The Attorney General's Office (FGJ) of Mexico City reported that the existence of a crime in the case of the teenager Fátima Mayté has not yet been ruled out. The young girl fell from several meters high at the middle school where she studied, allegedly due to bullying from other students. The attorney general's office indicated that the possibility of a crime or behavior directly or indirectly related to the fall, or to previous events that may have contributed to this tragic event, is being considered.
In the words of the FGJ: "The possibility of a crime or behavior to pursue is not ruled out, either directly or indirectly related to the fall or due to previous events that may have contributed to it. Since this unfortunate event became known, the personnel in charge of the case have not ceased investigations."
The agents in charge of the case continue to gather information and elements that may help to clarify the facts, since it was initially mentioned that Fátima's classmates had thrown her from the first floor of the school in the Iztapalapa borough. The FGJ emphasized the importance of clarifying this case to provide legal certainty to the minor's parents and to the society that has expressed its support for Fátima, recognized for her passion for Korean K-Pop music.
In this context, the authorities expressed: "We deeply regret what happened to the student, both for the reasons that may have led to her fall and for the implications this has caused to her health, as well as for the anguish it has caused to her parents."
Additionally, the need to analyze all circumstances that may have influenced the incident has been highlighted, including the possibility of previous bullying. The FGJ has clarified that, so far, there is no evidence that the minor was thrown from the first floor of the school, denying information circulated on social media. Fátima Mayté's fall occurred on February 4 at the Diurna Secondary School 236, during class hours and without the presence of anyone else at the moment of the tragic event.
